Black Mountain Irrigation District
The installation of the proposed 1500mm diameter Transmission Main is an integral part of BMID's anticipated McDougall Tunnel extension. Approximately 500m of 1500mm Epoxy Coated Steel Main are included in the project. The pipe will be used to replace two sections of the current conduit supplying BMID's distribution system.
In addition to the large diameter steel main, the project includes a concrete chamber to house two flow meters required for chlorine dosing and system operation.
Approximately 440m of 150mm PVC main are part of the project. The PVC main will be installed to service local users improving their supply conditions.
